Circular to Credit Institutions including Foreign Branches on the Supervisory Reporting Requirements - ITS v3.4 and Upcoming Changes due to Transition to DPM 2.0 and XBRL-CSV Format

This communication informs all credit institutions and foreign branches about developments in supervisory reporting requirements, specifically ITS v3.4, and the adoption of the new Data Point Model (DPM) 2.0 and the XBRL-CSV reporting format. The MFSA website has been updated with ITS v3.4 information and resources, expected to apply from the September 2024 reference date, including templates and instructions for Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) for credit institutions. The EBA will implement DPM 2.0 in 2024, publishing frameworks in both DPM 1.0 and 2.0 from March 2025 until December 2025, after which DPM 2.0 will be exclusive. The EBA is also transitioning to XBRL-CSV, accepting both XBRL-XML and XBRL-CSV during 2025, but only XBRL-CSV from December 2025 reference dates onwards; institutions and foreign branches are strongly advised to prepare for these changes.
