Circular to Licensed Exchange Companies Regarding the Mandatory Adoption of the Smart Civil ID Card
The Central Bank of Jordan issued Circular 1/9/12222 to Licensed Exchange Companies regarding the mandatory adoption of the Smart Civil ID Card. Effective October 1, 2018, the Smart Civil ID Card replaces the old personal ID card in all transactions, as mandated by Cabinet Decision No. 337. This directive follows a Ministry of Interior notification extending the transition period without imposing fines until the end of September.
