Circular to Microfinance Companies in the Kingdom Regarding Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection
The Central Bank of Jordan issued Circular No. 6/2/2847 dated 21/6/2020 to microfinance companies operating in the Kingdom. The directive mandates strict compliance with Cybersecurity Adaptation Instructions No. (1/1/26/1984) and Financial Consumer Protection Instructions No. (15/2018). Companies are required to implement controls to protect client data and increase customer awareness regarding phishing and electronic hacking risks. The circular also provides sample awareness messages for customers to use as a reference for these security measures.
