The Code of Corporate Governance applies to listed companies in Singapore, which are required under the Singapore Exchange Listing Rules to disclose their corporate governance practices and explain deviations from the Code in their annual reports. The 2018 Code supersedes the May 2012 version and applies to annual reports covering financial years commencing from 1 January 2019. The Corporate Governance Advisory Committee, established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, is tasked with advocating good corporate governance practices, monitoring international trends, and recommending updates to the Code.
