Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/788 amending Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/522

The European Commission amends Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/522 to extend the scope of exemptions for trading during closed periods to financial instruments other than shares, requiring a reasoned written request for immediate sales. The regulation updates indicators of market manipulation in Annex II to clarify that assessments may span timeframes other than a single day or trading session and include volume changes or indirect exposures via margin calls. It also establishes a list of designated trading venues with a significant cross-border dimension for market abuse supervision in Annex III, including Aquis Exchange Europe and Cboe Europe. This regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
