Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1800 on allocating external credit assessments to credit quality steps under Solvency II

The European Commission adopted Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1800 to establish implementing technical standards for mapping external credit assessments to an objective scale of seven credit quality steps under Directive 2009/138/EC (Solvency II). The regulation mandates that insurance and reinsurance undertakings apply the specific allocation tables set out in the Annex to determine solvency capital requirements. It entered into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal on 12 October 2016.
