Communication regarding the new EMIR reporting standards

Entities under the supervision of the National Bank of Belgium must update their reporting processes to comply with new EMIR reporting standards applying from 29 April 2024. All derivatives reporting must use the ISO 20022 XML format, prohibiting any other format, and collateral exchange information must be reported in a separate table. Financial counterparties are required to establish procedures for non-financial counterparties to provide missing contract details and renew LEIs, and must notify the competent authority of any significant reporting problems. Trade repositories must provide daily feedback on rejected reports and reconciliation status, which entities are encouraged to use to correct reporting deficiencies.
