Compilation of Rules for the Control of Pension Funds - Modification in the Calculation of the Deadline to Inform Insurance Companies (Art. 155.1.1)
The Central Bank of Uruguay modifies Article 155.1.1 of the Compilation of Rules for the Control of Pension Funds to change the start date for the five-business-day deadline that Administradoras de Fondos de Ahorro Previsional (AFAPs) have to provide claim documentation to insurance companies. The deadline now begins when the AFAP takes knowledge of the claim based on information from the pension entity and the submission of necessary documentation by the affiliate or beneficiary, rather than immediately upon notification of the event. This adjustment addresses operational impracticalities for AFAPs in contacting affiliates and obtaining required documents within the original timeframe.
