Controls related to import operations carried out on the basis of collection documents received in the name of the customer

The Central Bank of Egypt mandates banks to obtain a written commitment from customers confirming that import collection documents have not been presented to other banks, require customers to submit original customs release forms stamped by customs authorities listing the executing bank, and report customers who fail to provide customs release documents within one month of operation execution to the Central Bank for inclusion in a default list to prevent future similar transactions.
