The Financial Conduct Authority proposes rules requiring firms and individuals to obtain authorization before carrying out cryptoasset trading platform operations, intermediary services, lending and borrowing, and staking activities in the UK. The proposals include specific requirements for platform access, conflict of interest management, transparency, and settlement, while allowing certain principal dealing activities and the admission of own tokens under strict conditions. Stakeholders are invited to submit comments on these draft proposals by 12 February 2026.
