CP26/20: Adapting our rules for a changing market: self-invested personal pensions

The Financial Conduct Authority proposes new explicit Handbook rules for SIPP operators to strengthen consumer protections regarding due diligence and the handling of pension scheme money and assets. The proposals introduce specific due diligence requirements to mitigate scam and fraud risks, alongside a new Pension Scheme Money and Assets regime to establish clear baseline standards for record-keeping and asset protection for firms not subject to CASS rules. The consultation invites comments on these draft rules by 24 August 2026, with a policy statement and final text targeted for publication in the first half of 2027.
