CRD IV and CRR Specific Provisions Regulation

The Regulation exercises national options and discretions under the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and Capital Requirements Directive IV (CRD IV), establishing rules for capital buffers, the Maximum Distributable Amount, and transitional periods. It defines the scope for credit institutions, opt-in banks, investment firms, and clearing institutions, requiring compliance with CRR rules from 1 January 2014. The text repeals existing DNB supervisory regulations to the extent they overlap with the directly applicable CRR, while reserving chapters for future macroprudential measures and further elaboration on capital definitions.
