Terrorism Prevention Act, 2005

The Parliament of Jamaica enacted this legislation to define terrorist activities and establish criminal offenses for providing, possessing, or dealing in property for terrorist purposes. The Act imposes strict reporting duties on financial institutions and other entities to disclose suspicious transactions and allows for the seizure, restraint, and forfeiture of assets linked to terrorism. It further empowers authorities to issue monitoring and examination orders while ensuring compliance with international obligations and constitutional rights.
