Decision on Handling Convertible Mark Banknotes and Coins Unfit for Circulation and Damaged Foreign Currency Banknotes

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued this Decision to establish the criteria and procedures for exchanging convertible mark (KM) banknotes and coins that are worn, damaged, or withdrawn from circulation. It mandates that commercial banks handle exchanges for specific conditions, while the Central Bank directly processes complex cases, intentional damage, or items failing bank criteria, potentially charging for specialized analysis. The regulation also clarifies that the Central Bank does not exchange damaged foreign currency banknotes, referring such matters to the issuing central banks.
