The Department of Currency Management of the Bangladesh Bank directs all scheduled banks to establish counterfeit note detection booths at approved cattle markets in Dhaka and other districts to serve traders during the Eid-ul-Azha 2021 period. Banks must deploy experienced cash officers to provide free note verification services using detection machines, submit coordinator details by July 14, 2021, and ensure compliance with health protocols and security measures. The circular also assigns Sonali Bank Ltd. to coordinate note verification responsibilities in districts without Bangladesh Bank offices and requires banks to display security feature videos and submit implementation reports within 15 working days after the festival.
