Bangladesh Bank implements the National Payment Switch (NPS) as a central hub to connect all child switches owned or shared by scheduled banks. Scheduled banks must build a single interface with the NPS to route all inter-bank transactions from channels such as ATMs, POS, and mobile banking, and are advised to consult the central bank before initiating new systems. The NPS will support card and account number transactions, clear and settle them through banks' settlement accounts, and interface with international schemes like VISA and MasterCard.
