Decision on the Issuance and Circulation of Convertible Mark Banknotes
The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issues convertible mark (KM) banknotes in denominations of 50 fening, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 KM as legal tender. The banknotes are released in two versions distinguished by script order (Latin or Cyrillic) and specific writer portraits on the obverse, with circulation beginning on June 22, 1998, for lower denominations and by early August 1998 for higher ones. All versions are legally equal and must be accepted throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, featuring standardized security elements such as watermarks, security threads, and fluorescent inks.
