The National Bank must notify the Government that a bridge bank is necessary, after which the Government submits an application and a set of documents—including the Government's decision, draft statute, initial capital information, strategic and operational plan, proposed management and supervisory board members, risk‑management policies, operational procedures, and IT data—to the National Bank. The Executive Board assesses the application, may issue the license within eight days, and in urgent cases can grant a license after receiving only the first four documents under Article 29(8), provided proof that the required initial capital is secured or deposited in a temporary account; the holder of a qualifying shareholding must also apply for approval to acquire that holding. The issued license must state the bridge bank’s name, registered office, initial capital amount, permitted financial activities and any restrictions, and it becomes effective eight days after publication, applying from 13 October 2025.
