Decision on the upper limit on the amount of low value payments

Pursuant to Article 47 paragraph 1 item 6 of the Law on the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 158/10, 123/12, 43/14, 153/15, 6/16 and 83/18 and Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia No. 110/21), and Article 136 paragraph 2 indent 2 of the Law on Payment Services and Payment Systems (Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia No. 90/22), the Council of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia has adopted the following DECISION on the upper limit on the amount of low value payments
I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. This Decision lays down the upper limit on the amount over which payment transactions
   must be carried out in systemically important payment systems, classified by the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia.
   II. DETERMINING OF THE UPPER LIMIT ON THE AMOUNT OF LOW VALUE
   PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS
2. The amount of Denar 1,000,000 shall be determined as an upper limit on the amount of
   the individual low value payment transactions in denars based on a credit transfer. As an exception to paragraph 1 of this item, the upper limit shall not apply to payment transactions carried out through payment accounts maintained in the same payment service provider.
   III. CLOSING PROVISIONS
3. Once this Decision enters into force, it shall supersede the Decision on determining the
   amount of retail interbank payment (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 146/07).
4. This Decision shall enter into force on the eighth day after the date of its publication in
