Delay to the November 2026 RTGS standards release
The November 2026 RTGS standards release, which includes messaging standards for CHAPS payments, is deferred in its entirety. This deferral is consistent with Swift delaying the entire CBPR+ standards release and the November 2026 Swift Standards Release regarding the removal of the unstructured postal address format. The Bank of England will continue to engage with Swift, other market infrastructures, and RTGS participants directly on next steps while providing broader updates as further detail on revised timelines becomes available.
