Developing the Operational Framework of the Monetary Policy and Amending the Interest Rates Structure

The Central Bank of Jordan establishes a new CBJ Main Rate of 2.75% and introduces one-week or longer Certificates of Deposit priced via auctions within a 2.50%-2.75% range. Effective February 3, 2015, the Bank reduces the Rediscount Interest Rate to 4.0%, the Overnight Repurchase Agreement Rate to 3.75%, and the Overnight Deposit Window rate to 1.75%. Licensed banks are required to manage liquidity through these updated instruments and rate structures.
