Directive for Accredited Shariah Scholars dated 6th March 2026
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka revised the Guidelines applicable to Accredited Shariah Scholars recognized as Supplementary Service Providers. The revision specifically addresses the number of Shariah Scholars required to sign off on the Shariah compliance of Shariah Compliant Debt Securities and Whitelist Equity Indices, as well as the qualifications and experience of these scholars. The revised Guidelines are enclosed with the directive and published on the SEC website.
