DMD Circular Letter No. 01: Regarding Interest Rate Refixation in US Dollar Premium Bond and US Dollar Investment Bond
The Government of Bangladesh, through the Ministry of Finance, has revised the interest rates for the U.S. Dollar Premium Bond and U.S. Dollar Investment Bond based on investment slabs of up to US$100,000, between US$100,000 and US$500,000, and above US$500,000 for tenures of one, two, and three years. The circular mandates that total investment be calculated by combining holdings of both schemes, with previous rates applying to existing investments until new slabs are determined. Scheduled banks in Bangladesh are required to report transactions for these schemes in both US Dollars and Bangladeshi Taka.
