De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) applies certain options and discretions from the CRD and CRR regulations generically, as laid down in the Regulation on specific provisions of the CRD and the CRR. Chapter 2 of this regulation covers macro-prudential provisions applicable to all banks in the Netherlands, while Chapter 3 addresses micro-prudential provisions applicable only to less significant institutions (LSIs). For discretions unsuitable for generic application, DNB decides on a case-by-case basis, observing ECB recommendations and the ECB Guide on options and discretions available in Union law.
