DOS Circular Letter No. 08: Keeping scheduled bank branches in garment industry areas open on 5, 6 and 7 April 2024 for payment of wages and allowances before Eid-ul-Fitr
The Department of Offshore Supervision directs scheduled banks to keep selected branches in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaulka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong open on limited scale on April 5, 6, and 7, 2024, to facilitate wage payments and foreign exchange sales for the ready-made garment sector. The directive specifies reduced operating hours for banking activities and transaction processing on these Fridays and weekends to ensure security while serving workers' needs before Eid-ul-Fitr.
