Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 13/10/PBI/2011 Amending Statutory Reserve Requirements for Commercial Banks

Bank Indonesia issued Regulation No. 13/10/PBI/2011 to increase the statutory reserve requirement in foreign currency for commercial banks to 8% of foreign currency deposits. This amendment aims to strengthen foreign currency liquidity management and mitigate macroeconomic instability caused by short-term capital inflows. The regulation also establishes specific daily sanctions for non-compliance with both rupiah and foreign currency reserve obligations, effective from February 9, 2011.
