EEA insurers must follow a notification procedure through their home supervisors to establish a branch or provide cross-border services in the Netherlands. For branch offices, operations may commence two months after DNB confirms receipt of the notification or informs the insurer of additional public interest conditions, whereas cross-border services may begin immediately upon submission. Upon completion, the insurer is entered into a public register maintained by DNB, which processes these notifications free of charge.
