Electronic presentation of export documents under documentary collection arrangements
Authorized Dealers in foreign exchange in Bangladesh may process export documents electronically under Documentary Collection arrangements, subject to compliance with the Uniform Rules for Collections (URC 522) Supplement for Electronic Presentation (eURC). Electronic Transferable Records are permitted where local law allows, while documents related to title to goods or possessing transferability features must be sent physically if local law does not permit Electronic Transferable Records. Authorized Dealers must ensure prior mutual agreement with overseas counterparts regarding formats and presentation places, maintain complete audit trails, and verify digital signatures in accordance with existing regulations. The implementation begins on a pilot basis with a risk-based, phased approach, requiring Authorized Dealers to inform Bangladesh Bank promptly upon initiating piloting activities.
