Enhancing fund governance for Mutual Funds

All Mutual Funds, AMCs, Trustee Companies, and Boards of Trustees must limit independent trustee/director tenure to two five-year terms, with a three-year cooling-off period before reappointment. Existing independent personnel serving nine years or more must step down within one year of issuance. Mutual Fund auditors, appointed as LLPs, are capped at two five-year terms with a five-year cooling-off period, prohibiting common partners with outgoing firms during this time. Existing auditors serving nine years or more must conclude their tenure within one year.
