ESMA launches a Common Supervisory Action on Risk management function of UCITS management companies and AIFMs
CySEC will participate in the 2026 Common Supervisory Action by initiating a targeted thematic review of CyIFMs in late 2026 or early 2027. This review will comprise on-site and/or desk-based assessments of a representative sample of firms. The assessment focuses on the effectiveness, independence, and expertise of the risk management function, specifically regarding governance, risk identification and monitoring, and reporting to senior management. CyIFMs are expected to evaluate whether their existing risk management arrangements remain appropriate and proportionate to their activities.
