Establishing and Classifying the Organisation Size of Financial Institutions
The Malta Financial Services Authority requires applicants and existing Authorised Persons to classify their organization size as a Microenterprise, Small Enterprise, Medium-sized Enterprise, or Non-SME. Financial Institutions must update their Corporate Profile on the Licence Holder Portal and upload a matching self-declaration form by 31 March 2024. This classification obligation extends to prospective applicants as part of the authorisation process, guided by Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC.
