The Bangladesh Bank's Foreign Exchange Policy Department requests all Authorized Dealer Banks to provide necessary banking cooperation to ensure the continuation of production, transportation, and supply chain for essential and daily use commodities during the COVID-19 outbreak, in line with a Ministry of Commerce letter. The circular also reminds banks to adhere to the guidelines outlined in Circular Letter No. 12, dated April 12, 2020, regarding the release of goods and settlement of import liabilities against documents received directly from importers, as per the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018. Banks are further instructed to inform all relevant parties about these matters.
