FEPD Circular Letter No. 15: Opening LC for Importing Pesticides Without Product Registration and Import License
The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank directs all approved dealer banks to verify that importers possess valid product registration certificates from the Department of Agricultural Extension and valid import licenses before issuing letters of credit for pesticide imports. This requirement enforces Section 26(14) of the Import Policy Order, 2012-15, under the Pesticides Ordinance, 1971. Banks are instructed to maintain the relevant documents properly and inform all concerned parties of this directive.
