FEPD Circular Letter No. 19: Issuance of Public Notification No. 36(2012-2015)/Import (Import Trade Control), Dated 06/09/2015
The document suspends the prohibition on crude salt imports under Section 26(58) of the Import Policy Order 2012-2015 until September 27, 2015, and permits the import of 100,000 metric tons of crude salt (HS Code 25.01) subject to specific conditions. Salt mill owners must establish a letter of credit for up to 10,000 metric tons and notify the Controller General of Imports in writing within 48 hours with all relevant documentation. Shipments must be made within 30 days of establishing the letter of credit, and Bangladesh Bank is required to collect and urgently forward daily letter of credit establishment details to the Controller General's office.
