FEPD Circular No. 04: Term lending in Taka to foreign owned or controlled companies

Non-authorized dealer bank branches and non-bank financial institutions may provide term loans in Taka to foreign-owned or controlled firms only in association with an authorized dealer bank branch. This arrangement is permitted provided the loan amount does not exceed the percentage of equity held by Bangladesh nationals relative to total term borrowing, and the firm's total debt does not exceed a 50:50 debt-equity ratio. The authorized dealer must ensure compliance with the instructions contained in Chapter 16 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2009 for the entire financing.
