FEPD Circular No. 15: Foreign exchange transactions of freight forwarders

Licensed freight forwarders in Bangladesh may pay freight charges to airlines and shipping lines in Taka for FOB exports, supported by encashment certificates issued by their designated Authorized Dealer bank. Transactions must be channeled through a single designated AD bank branch, and forwarders must report outbound and inbound shipment particulars to the Foreign Exchange Operation Department by the 20th day of each month. Additionally, Authorized Dealers are permitted to effect outward remittances for profit share or service charges payable to counterpart freight forwarders.
