FEPD Circular No. 18: Taka loans to Non-resident Bangladeshi (NRBs) working abroad
Banks are authorized to extend Taka loans to Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRBs) working abroad for bonafide purposes, subject to specific conditions. The loan amount is capped at the borrower's requirements or 10.00 Lac Taka, whichever is lower. NRB-borrowers must be regular remitters through official channels, and loan repayments must be settled using inward remittances sent by the borrowers from abroad. Banks must adhere to applicable credit norms, prudential regulations, and customer due diligence requirements.
