FEPD Circular No. 20: Foreign Currency Account for International Gateway (IGW) Operators
Authorized Dealers in Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh may open and maintain Foreign Currency Accounts for International Gateway (IGW) Operators holding valid licenses from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. Foreign currency received from International Carriers for incoming calls may be credited to these accounts, and balances may be used to pay International Carriers for outgoing calls or other IGW Operators for incoming calls against invoices. Account balances are freely encashable into taka, and Authorized Dealers must ensure the deduction and deposit of applicable VAT and taxes to the Government Treasury.
