Law on Compulsory Traffic Insurance - Unofficial Consolidated Text (NN, No. 151/2005, 36/2009, 75/2009, 76/2013, 152/2014, 155/2023)

The Croatian Parliament enacted this Law on Compulsory Traffic Insurance to transpose key EU directives and regulations into national legislation, establishing comprehensive mandatory coverage for vehicles, boats, aircraft, and automated systems. It mandates owners to secure motor third-party liability insurance before use, defines precise rights for injured parties to claim directly from insurers, and sets strict 60-day settlement deadlines with interest penalties for delays. The legislation further clarifies definitions, territorial validity, and supervisory oversight to ensure seamless cross-border claims and robust financial protection for all road, air, and water users.
