Competent authorities must notify the EBA of compliance status within two months of translation publication. Creditors must establish procedures to detect payment difficulties early, engage with consumers respectfully, and provide specific information on shortfalls and consequences. They must document reasons for forbearance measures, such as refinancing or payment holidays, and retain records for a reasonable period.
