The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago promulgated the Financial Institutions (Capital Adequacy) Regulations, 2020, effective May 14, 2020. The Bank extended the parallel reporting period for three months, requiring licensees and financial holding companies to report data for May, June, and July 2020 before discontinuing parallel reporting. The Central Bank finalized the Guideline for the Use of Credit Rating by Regulated Entities and recognized credit ratings from Standards and Poor’s, Moody’s, Fitch, and CariCris for regulatory purposes.
