Financial Institutions (Liquidity) Regulations, 2025

The Minister of Finance of Trinidad and Tobago issued these Regulations, effective October 1, 2025, requiring licensees and financial holding companies to maintain a minimum liquidity coverage ratio of 100 percent. Entities must calculate this ratio using high-quality liquid assets and total net cash outflows over a thirty-day period, while submitting monthly and quarterly reports to the Central Bank. The rules include specific asset classification caps, a twelve-month transition period for compliance, and provisions for exempting certain licensees based on their business model and risk profile.
