Resolution SSF No. 2026-558 amends Article 289 of the Compilation of Regulations and Control Norms of the Financial System to align with legal changes regarding last resort loans. The Central Bank of Uruguay may now accept public offerings issued by the State or the Central Bank, other public offerings, and commercial/industrial/agricultural bills as collateral for liquidity assistance. These operations are capped at 1.5 times the assisted institution's equity, with a maximum term of 90 days for guaranteed loans and requiring unanimous Board approval for certain collateral types.
