The Financial Conduct Authority summarizes 51 responses to its Discussion Paper on fair pricing and clarifies its six-question Framework for assessing price discrimination. The regulator confirms it will apply the Framework in a principles-based manner, retaining significant judgment rather than using prescriptive rules, and intends to embed this approach into its Handbook Review. The first formal application of the Framework is scheduled for the General Insurance Pricing Practices Market Study, with a follow-up Discussion Paper on principles planned for Q4 2019/20.
