GBCSRD Circular No. 05: Opening of Bank Accounts for Ready Made Garments Workers
Bangladesh Bank instructs all scheduled banks to allow ready-made garments workers to open bank accounts by depositing 100 Taka against their National ID and workplace ID card, with no minimum balance requirement and no charges or fees. Banks are advised to facilitate salary payments through these accounts and provide necessary banking services, while submitting quarterly progress reports within 15 days after each quarter, with the first report due by January 15, 2014. These instructions are effective immediately.
