To the Management of the Central Bank of Jordan

Subject: Theft of Safe Deposit Boxes

1. We received a letter from the Director of the Arab and International Police Department (Interpol), containing the Purple Notice issued by the Interpol General Secretariat, at the request of Interpol Bucharest/Romania, regarding the spread of a new criminal method there, which is the theft of rented safe deposit boxes in several banks in Romania using duplicated (copied) keys. The criminal method consists of a group of individuals renting safe deposit boxes in banks using fake names and exploiting their entry into banks to use their boxes in order to steal the contents of other customers' safe deposit boxes at those banks using duplicated keys.

2. For your action, regarding the distribution of the aforementioned criminal method to the main departments of the banks and financial institutions under your supervision, which have a safe deposit box system, to take the necessary preventive measures to preserve the safe deposit boxes of their clients.
