Governance and Management of Information and Related Technology Instructions No. 65/2016
The Central Bank of Jordan issues Instructions No. 65/2016, mandating all licensed banks and foreign branches in Jordan to establish a governance framework for information technology aligned with the COBIT 5 standard. Banks must form a Board-level IT Governance Committee and an Executive IT Steering Committee, develop a specific governance code within 150 days, and achieve Maturity Level 3.2 within eighteen months and Level 5.2 within three years. The instructions require quarterly committee meetings, regular compliance reporting every six months, and the publication of the governance code on the bank's website.
