Governance Reforms - 3rd Evaluation: 1 January 2022 – 31 March 2022

The Central Bank of Suriname published annual reports for the fiscal years 2016, 2017, and 2018 to address overdue financial reporting obligations. The Bank completed internal audit capacity building, including training and the release of corporate governance and currency operations audit reports, and finalized international financial reporting standards implementation sessions with IMF consultants. Additionally, significant operational risks from the Financial Markets, Procurement, and Open Market Operations departments were added to the Bank's risk register. Future expectations include the adoption of a new Banking Law by the National Assembly, the publication of the 2019 annual report, and the initiation of value chain process mapping and business continuity planning.
