Guidance Note – Acceptable Jurisdictions Criteria

The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority issued this January 2017 guidance to define the criteria for recognizing jurisdictions as acceptable for regulating entities in Specialist, Qualifying, and Experienced Investor Funds. The Authority assesses potential jurisdictions based on the existence of memoranda of understanding, fit and proper licensing standards, adequate supervision arrangements, and enforcement powers comparable to its own. Consequently, specific functionaries such as administrators, custodians, and promoters for these funds must be located in jurisdictions that meet these regulatory standards.
