Guideline on procedures for collection of granular credit and credit risk data
National Central Banks must compile and transmit granular credit data and counterparty reference data to the European Central Bank in accordance with specified schemes and timelines. The Guideline mandates that counterparties be registered in the Register of Institutions and Affiliates Database using unique identifiers before data transmission to prevent double reporting and ensure data quality. It establishes specific responsibilities for home and host National Central Banks regarding foreign branches and sets transitional deadlines, requiring the first transmission of credit data no later than 31 March 2019 and counterparty reference data by 30 September 2018.
